About Squadra Guzzista
Squadra Guzzista is a online community of Moto Guzzi enthusiasts. It started in 2006 with the idea to meet other Moto Guzzi fans around the world and to learn more about the Guzzis that people ride. My aim has always been to provide it all for free and I am determined that this remains the case. These are the elements that make up Squadra Guzzista.
The Squadra Guzzista Wiki
It started as a wiki (www.guzzista.wetpaint.com). A wiki is a type of website where users can create their own content, add their own photos, videos, and much more. There are now more than 500 members of the wiki and our pages are viewed more than 1,000 times per day. So far, more than 600,000 pages have been seen.
The members of the wiki come from all over the world. There are large enclaves in the USA and Australia as well as throughout Europe. I would love for these groups of Squadra Guzzista members to perhaps get together on a regional basis and organise local rides, gatherings etc, that would be really cool!
To join our wiki, simply follow the link above and click the yellow “sign up” button, or follow the link here.
The Squadra Guzzista Forum
Our wiki is also equipped with a basic discussion board which is mainly to allow the wiki’s members to comment on and discuss the pages of the wiki. As the wiki began to grow it became evident that the discussion board had limitations so I began the process of building a new forum. This may be found at www.guzzista.com/forum and now also has over 200 members.
It is a relaxed, easy going and friendly place. There are some real knowlegeable members there so if you need advice to help you with your Guzzi you will always find someone who has the answer. As with the wiki, members of the forum come from all over the world. Join and come and say hello, you will be very welcome!
I am often asked why the forum and wiki are hosted sepparately. The reason is that if there is a problem and one goes down the other will still be running.
The Squadra Guzzista Shop
Whilst everything on Squadra Guzzista is free, it does have running costs but to help with this I have set up a shop where anyone can buy excellent quality clothing and merchandise. The profits from the shop are used to pay for hosting fees and to make available prizes for the odd competition we run every now and again, like the yearly calendar competition where members compete for their bike to be immortalised in the Squadra Guzzista calendar. This competition is in its third year now!
The Squadra Guzzista shop is here and is equipped with a secure checkout system. You can order from anywhere in the world and you will be amazed at the quality of the merchandise! If you’d like to help us keep running for free, we would like to thank you in advance for your order!
Squadra Guzzista on Facebook
We were one of the first Moto Guzzi groups to build a specific Facebook page. Basically, there are 15 million members of Facebook…some must be Guzzi owners right? The Facebook group is therefore a way to meet even more Guzzisti in a different environment. I update the group whenever a major update is made to the wiki. You can also play the Guzzi gifts game, where you can give out classic moto Guzzis to your friends.
Squadra Guzzista Blog
You are here! I have never blogged before but I think this will be a useful tool with which to provide an overview of what is happening accross the various Squadra Guzzista platforms. If you want a easy way to learn about what the Squadra community are up to, this is for you.
I hope you enjoy Squadra Guzzista. I am always contactable if you need any advice. Over the last couple of years I have built quite amn extensive range of contacts in the Moto Guzzi world and I am proud to have links with Guzzi groups in Europe, North America and Oceania.
Have a good look around, join, and tell us all about your Moto Guzzi.
